Development of a Cross-Sectoral Framework for the Digital Product Passport (DPP) in the Circular Economy
The CIRPASS project (Collaborative Initiative for a Standards-based Digital Product Passport for Stakeholder-Specific Sharing of Product Data for a Circular Economy) aims to establish a clear cross-sectoral definition of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and develop a standardized framework to support circular economy objectives. The project focuses on defining a unified product data model, proposing an open data exchange protocol, and building stakeholder consensus on key circularity data across the batteries, electronics, and textiles value chains. Additionally, it seeks to develop use cases and roadmaps for piloting and deploying cross-sectoral DPPs to drive circular business models.
+ImpaKT’s contributions included:
- Defining the minimum and cross-sector data set required for the Digital Product Passport.
- Task Leader for use case identification, analyzing the added value of DPP data across sectors.
- Contributing to the definition of business requirements for the IT architecture to ensure seamless DPP data exchange and access.
- Supporting the development of a roadmap for DPP deployment in the batteries, electronics, and textiles industries.
Through its contributions, +ImpaKT helps shape the future of Digital Product Passports, ensuring their alignment with circular economy principles and facilitating their adoption across multiple industries.
